Beat Battles BETA Notes

Beat Battles is not a closed test and it is not a coming-soon page. Overtune shipped a playable Roblox studio on 26 February 2026, filled 25-player servers, and left the BETA tag on. This page is the timeline and the expectation sheet: what is stable because it is the sequencer engine, and what a music BETA still has every right to rename, reprice, or restyle.

If you only need a one-screen snapshot of crate costs and HUD labels, use the Updates hub. If you have never placed a loop, start with Getting Started and come back here before you treat a shop number as permanent.

Timeline players actually need

26 February 2026 is the created date on the Roblox listing. That is the day the experience existed as a joinable place, not a trailer-only announcement. Early weeks after launch already put the studio in front of a huge Roblox crowd. An investor article dated August 2026 said Roblox hand-picked Beat Battles for Standout Games, the rotating front-page slot. Standout is recognition and distribution. It is not a named patch, a new lane, or a promise that FX names are frozen.

The listing still showed an update on 4 September 2026 when we last checked, and the experience was still tagged BETA. Visits sit above 2.5 million with more than 32 thousand favorites. Free to play. Online multiplayer. Icelandic studio. Those facts describe a live game that is still allowed to move the chrome around the sequencer.

Official channels and the Roblox page remain the source of truth. Fan pages, including this wiki, lag a listing bump. Keep official links nearby when a crate price in your screenshot does not match the shop you just opened.

What a music BETA is allowed to change

Treat three buckets differently.

Shop prices can move without a trailer. The current loop shop sells a Single Loop Box for 100 gems, a Triple box for 250, and a Full Pack for 1100. Three Singles already cost 300, so a Triple at 250 is the bulk buy if those grants stay at three. A Full Pack at 1100 is a catalogue event, not a tutorial purchase. If a September patch quietly changes any of those three numbers, believe the in-game shop, then update your gem plan. Do not farm a rumor code to cover the difference. We have not confirmed working promo codes; Codes stays empty until a real string exists.

The FX list can grow, shrink, or rename. Starter Spotlights and the Flame Machine are the stage toys we can name today. They dress a set. They do not replace Drum, Bass, or a hook. A BETA may add a new light, hide a flame, or move the button. Log the new label. Do not rebuild your whole arrangement around a prop that might be a starter unlock this month and a paid deck next month. Detailed FX pages live with stage effects.

UI chrome is the most restless bucket. Current DJ, a theme chip such as Retro, YOU’RE UP, and star votes are the stage language as of this writing. A music BETA will shuffle panels, fonts, and prompt copy long before it rips out the piano roll. If YOU’RE UP still means you are the live DJ, the social loop did not change: produce, perform, collect stars, vote the next set.

What should stay familiar

The sequencer is the product. Lanes still read Drum, Bass, Guitar, FX, Piano Roll, Keys, and Synth. That engine is the same family as the Overtune mobile app, dropped into a Roblox club so making a beat is a public act. You remix with loops, you write notes on the piano roll, you battle on stage, and the crowd votes. You unlock DJ decks, stages, and effects, expand the catalogue, and climb production billboards.

That is also why Beat Battles is not Friday Night Funkin and not a tap-arrow rhythm game. There is no chart you must hit. Other players hear your arrangement and assign stars. If a BETA patch adds a metronome helper or a new theme chip, you are still producing, not tracing arrows.

How to play while the tag says BETA

Spend as if prices can jump. Open Singles until you know which lanes you actually fill. Keep a Triple for a session where you need three related loops. Save Full Packs for after you have taken a set on stage and seen which holes the crowd hears. Confirm lane labels before you watch an old clip: Drum and Bass still have to be present, FX still has to leave space for the melody, and the first bars still have to carry the hook because voters do not wait for a long intro.

When the HUD says YOU’RE UP, play the posted theme. Retro is the example we can name. Match palette and drum character instead of dropping a mismatched pack because it was on sale in February. Use Starter Spotlights when you want the DJ readable. Use the Flame Machine when the drop needs a visible hit. Then stay for stars on the next DJ. Leaving the server the moment your set ends is how you miss the social half of a 25-player room.

If two wiki pages disagree, prefer the newest listing date on this page, then in-game labels, then studio posts. The BETA tag is a warning about prices, FX names, and HUD copy. It is not a warning that the experience is unreleased. Join a server, finish one remix, and treat every crate cost as current-until-patched.
